Important Information for Adopters
Guinea pigs are social animals and thrive best in pairs or groups. When kept alone, they become anxious, depressed and stressed.
Single Guinea Pig Adoptions
- Male bonding sucess: 20%
- Female bonding sucess: 80%
For this reason, we allow single guinea pigs to be adopted only if:
- You already have another guinea pig at home and are planning not to bond
- You are planning to bond and will be doing this bonding session at GPRO
- You plan to adopt two single guinea pigs from us
Single guinea pigs must each have a minimum of 8 sq ft of space.
We require enclosures to be placed side-by-side so guinea pigs can see, hear, smell, and interact safely. This setup supports social needs while allowing personal space, especially important for dominant or alpha pigs.
