Babu came to us after an animal lover saw him on Kijiji and knew he needed help based on the condition he was in. He had a scar on his back, which may have been from another guinea pig or from scratching due to mites.
Mites are very common in guinea pigs, and we routinely treat all pigs with ivermectin as a precaution. Babu spent a month in quarantine at the rescue, where he received regular baths and treatment.
He is now fully mite-free and ready to find a home, ideally with another male pig to bond with.
